Basketball

Varsity
The Bears defeated Aubrey 35-34 on Tuesday. They had seven players score in the game. Senior Anna Murray and sophomore Lauren Norvell led the team with seven points each.

"I am so proud of the hard work and effort my girls bring to practice and games every day," Coach Nikki Nester said.

Junior Varsity
Gigi Fong's late block secured a 32-30 win over Aubrey. Abbie Penn had a team-best 12 points, and Katie Robb added 10 points.

"We played really well as a team," Coach Tierney Hughes said. "The team has really grown over these last few weeks."

Freshman
UA finished second at the Duncanville Invitational.

Soccer

Varsity
Ursuline is on a roll! The Bears recorded a 7-2 win over Parish in their district opener. They followed with a 9-0 win over Bishop Dunne.

Kylie Dobbs combined for four goals in the two wins. Adrienne Bland, LJ Moore, Natalia Quevedo, and Anna Miller also added two goals each. They were Anna's first two goals at UA. Other scorers against Dunn: Shannon Reilly, Katie Gay, Avery Engleman, and Nikki Kanzler.

JV Red
UA topped The Covenant School 4-0 on Tuesday. Megan Manning scored twice, and Emma Whitley and Caro Ponce also found the back of the net.

"Our defense was strong in playing the ball across the field as well as attacking from the back," Coach Michele Kappas said. "We have had a long, good week of training and are looking forward to our upcoming games."

JV White
The Bears topped Pantego Christian 10-0 on Tuesday. Hadley Scichili had a head-turning four goals, and Megan Manning (2 goals), Emma Whitley (1 goal), and Caro Ponce (1 goal) also scored.

Crew

Ursuline Rowing (145 points) finished second at the Battle for Dallas at White Rock Lake. UA was 28 points behind first-place White Rock Rowing (177). The inaugural scrimmage also included Dallas United.

The Varsity Quad of Sarah Gibbs, Alexis Dewitt, Hailey Mentgen, and Katie Motta also earned a first-place finish.

"It was a wonderful event," Coach Nick Fazzino said. "It was nice to see so many faculty and staff supporting us as well."

Swimming

Junior Priscilla Wongso adds another big race to her career accomplishments. Priscilla competes in this week's Speedo Winter Junior Nationals at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin. Priscilla, swimming with Lakeside Aquatic, recorded a 23.85 in the 50 freestyle this morning. Check back next week for more results.

The team is also gearing up for big meets next month.

"We are in our holiday training period," Coach Jeff Girard said. "This time is critical for moving into our Championship season in January-February."
