Varsity Basketball started 2019 off right.

The Bears defeated Frisco-Legacy Christian 57-41 on Tuesday. Senior Anna Murray lead the way with 23 points, and junior Brynson Gill added a season-best 16 points.

Ursuline, whose record moves to 9-5, will start district play with its annual DPL Night on Tuesday, January 15 vs. Parish Episcopal. The game starts at 6:00 p.m.

The fun continues this weekend for our basketball teams. Ursuline will host another clinic with Notre Dame School on Saturday. The Notre Dame students will learn the fundamentals of basketball in Ursuline's gym. Breakfast will also be served.

Varsity topped Parish 4-2 on Monday. Adrienne Bland and Juliette Moore scored in the first half. The second half started much like the first. Kylie Dobbs found the back of the net off a Katie Gay pass. The game's last goal was a beauty. Erin Hurlburt sent in a corner, and Rachel Cook crashed through with the header.

Ursuline entered the home game with momentum. The Bears topped California's Santa Margarita 1-0 in the National Elite Prep Showcase over Christmas break. Santa Margarita won the 2015-16 National Championship.

Ursuline's next home game is Monday vs. Bishop Dunne.

JV White is still undefeated after a 1-0 victory vs. HSAA. The Bears play in the White McKinney Christian Soccer Tournament next week.

Ursuline will compete in a meet at Highland Park High School on Tuesday, January 15. It's the Bears final warm-up before regionals.
