Ursuline Softball is about to play its biggest game of the year.
The Bears meet Nolan Catholic in a second-round playoff game at 7 p.m. tonight at Irving High School. The two teams used to be district foes, but they'll meet for the first time this season tonight.
"We're hitting .357 over the last games, so we need to get our bats going early," Coach Stephanie Zorn said. "Nolan has a great team, and they'll hit the ball. We just have to jump out early and play solid defense."
Ursuline topped Fort Worth All Saints in its playoff opener. Senior Mary Chen went 3-for-3 with a triple. Senior Rachel Pierce, junior Nicole Clements, and sophomore Rachel Kennedy each added two hits.
"We have all of the tools we need to be successful," Zorn said. "If we're there mentally, we'll be in good shape."
