Sports Week Wrap-Up 9/5

Cross Country

In their first 5km race of the season, the Running Bears took on some of the toughest large public schools in the state at the Marcus I Invite on August 31.

Held at North Lakes Park in Denton, 62 Ursuline Cross Country competitors ran in three different races. 45 of them ran their fastest cross country time ever!

The Varsity Bears placed 5th as a team with 133 points. Amanda Hogan '22 was 1st overall for the third week in a row and Katherine Reynolds '22 placed 5th overall. Devon Vopni '21 took 21st to win an individual medal.

The Junior Varsity Bears placed 8th as a team with 217 points. They were led by Julia Elias '21 in 27th place and Grace Gallagher '23 in 31st place.

The Junior Varsity Open Bears took 6th as a team with 168 points. Amy Sickler '23 led in 25th place with Cecilia O'Brien '19 in 28th place.
