Sports Week Wrap-Up 10/1

Cross Country

Running Bears opened their official racing season on Saturday, October 26, at the Ambassador Assault.

They won the girls' high school division, and were led by Amanda Hogan '22 who won the individual race in a blazing time of 11:16 over 3200m. Devon Vopni '21 was close behind in 3rd place with an 11:45 time. 

The top scoring Bears were rounded out by Meredith Hazard '24, Tess Corrales '24, and Kate Thornton '24. Zoe Smith '23 and Anna Fent '21 were the crucial 6th and 7th Varsity finishers for the Bears.

Nineteen Running Bears competed in the early race, and fifteen of them earned new 3200m/2mile personal records, including the aforementioned 11:16 by Amanda Hogan, a modern (2007+) Ursuline school XC record.

The Running Bears next race is this weekend, Saturday, October 3, at the Tarrant County XC Meet held at Central Park in White Settlement.

Volleyball

Varsity Volleyball is currently 5-3 and plays Bishop Lynch this evening, October 1, at 7:00 p.m. to kick-off district play.
