Kelly Woods Named Varsity Tennis Coach at Ursuline Academy

Kelly Woods steps into the role of Varsity Tennis Coach at Ursuline Academy after serving as assistant coach for the program this past season, bringing a wealth of competitive experience, proven coaching success, and a deep commitment to mentoring young women.

A former Division I tennis player, Kelly understands the discipline, resilience, and determination required to compete at a high level. She most recently served as head coach at Duncanville High School, where she led the tennis program to six consecutive district championships. Her coaching tenure concluded with a 6A state girls singles champion, following a previous season in which she guided both a girls doubles team and a singles player to the state tournament.

Before joining Ursuline, Kelly taught middle school history and English at Providence Christian School, where she also launched a new pickleball program that offered both recreational and competitive opportunities for students.

Grounded in her Catholic faith, Kelly is passionate about helping young women recognize and develop their God-given gifts. She seeks to cultivate not only excellence on the court, but also joy, confidence, and character in her student-athletes as they pursue ambitious goals in athletics, academics, and beyond.

We are excited for Kelly to lead Ursuline Tennis and continue the tradition of excellence within our athletics program.
