Every Monday, Lily Smith ’25 starts her week with pure joy—walking into the Notre Dame School of Dallas for Senior Service, sharing smiles and special moments with the students of Notre Dame. Once a year, that joy multiplies when Lily, along with her Ursuline Basketball teammates hosts its annual clinic with Notre Dame students!
This year, 31 Basketbears and three coaches welcomed 27 Notre Dame students to the Jane Neuhoff Athletic Center on Saturday, January 25, for a morning filled with basketball, friendship, and unforgettable memories. Players helped students with shooting, dribbling, and even half-court trick shots—while also learning some dance moves and karate tricks in return! The day wrapped up with breakfast together, celebrating the power of connection and community.
This special partnership, which began in 2019, has grown into a beloved tradition. As varsity captain Annabelle Tobin ’25 shared, "The Basketbears and the Notre Dame students have a great time getting active together and playing basketball. There are tons of smiles throughout the day, and I am so happy they are able to join us on this special day! I look forward to it every year!"
For Lily, the clinic is a reminder of how small acts of service create lasting impact. "My service to the Notre Dame School is a reminder of the impact kindness and support can have, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it."
