Esse Receives NCTE Honor

Esse received the highest honor from the National Council of Teachers of English Program, which highlights excellence in student literary magazines.

Ursuline's 2019 edition of the literary magazine was one of six Texas schools ranked as Superior. 

The magazine has already received First Place with Special Merit in the American Scholastic Press Association's annual magazine competition.

Esse 2019 was produced by the Ursuline Literary-Art Magazine Club, which was led by Editor-in-Chief Mary Beth Kamp '20, Art Editor Alyssa Dean '20, and Copy/Layout Editor Kelly Mansour '20. Monica Prachyl Cochran '71 and Kate Kairies Schenck '97 moderated the club.
