The Ursuline Fund is a yearly fundraising initiative that supports Ursuline’s operating budget and strategic priorities. It provides flexible, unrestricted resources that allow the school to respond to real-time needs and opportunities across academics, student life, faculty development, and campus improvements. Every dollar that is raised provides additional income that Ursuline can rely on to strengthen and support our people and the programs that make the Ursuline experience extraordinary.

There are so many! The Ursuline Fund allows us to say yes to classroom enhancements, faculty professional development, student wellness resources, and campus security improvements, while also providing needed budgetary support. The flexibility of the fund means we can quickly respond to needs identified by teachers, administrators, parents, and students across campus. Examples of what The Ursuline Fund allows us to say yes to include:

• Upgrading our campus Wi-Fi bandwidth to allow for faster, more secure, and stable Internet across our campus.
• Tuition Assistance for Ursuline Students
• Adding a third lacrosse team
• Creating the new, much needed support role of Associate Athletic Director of Student Support
•  Learning Lab on Campus
• A new rowing boat for the Crew team
• Student financial assistance for UA Mission Trips and the Steubenville Youth Conference
• A part-time English faculty position to support healthy student/teacher ratio in our freshman year English classes 

While tuition covers much of our day-to-day operations, it doesn’t include the full range of resources, programs, and opportunities that make an Ursuline education exceptional.

The Ursuline Fund provides essential, flexible support that helps us say yes to real-time needs and enhancements such as student scholarships, faculty development, classroom innovation, student wellness initiatives, and campus improvements. Maintaining a healthy annual fund also ensures that our budget is strong, allowing Ursuline to remain competitive with other leading schools in our area, so we can continue to attract and retain outstanding students, faculty, and staff.

Like all independent schools, Ursuline relies on annual giving because tuition alone does not cover the full cost of providing an exceptional educational experience. The Ursuline Fund ensures we have the resources to respond to the needs and opportunities each year, whether that’s classroom innovation, faculty development, student wellness, scholarships, or campus enhancements. 

To ensure we can respond to the most pressing needs across campus, all gifts to The Ursuline Fund are undesignated. This flexibility allows us to thoughtfully allocate resources where the need is greatest each year.

The Ursuline Fund is made up of annual, unrestricted gifts that can be used immediately to support the school’s most pressing real-time needs. A capital campaign is a targeted, time-limited effort to fund major projects such as new buildings or significant renovations. An endowment gift is invested to generate income each year, supporting Ursuline in perpetuity. Together, these gifts strengthen Ursuline’s mission, while helping us plan for today and tomorrow.

Participation in The Ursuline Fund—whether through large or small gifts—signals a shared belief in the school’s mission.
