"The Ursuline Sisters found me... and did their best to give me confidence, encouragement and opportunities. It was completely transformative!"

In 2009, I attended the Dedication for the French Family Science, Math, and Technology Center and like most everyone, was very touched by Melinda French Gates' remarks. I, too, was once a very hesitant Ursuline freshman. I had come to Ursuline from public school and felt lost, unsure I wanted to be here.

But then the Ursuline Sisters found me. They made me work hard and did their best to give me confidence, encouragement and opportunities. It was completely transformative!

That is why I give back to Ursuline...to honor Sister Dolores Marie and all she did for me. As principal, she was a powerful woman, and with a great sense of humor, as well. I had wonderful classmates and we have all stayed close.

I asked my husband, Neil, "What if I had not come to Ursuline?" His reply, without hesitation, "Pat, Ursuline changed your life." How different my life's path would have been had it not been for Ursuline!

The Academy has had a huge impact on my entire family. Neil and I met while I was a student at Ursuline and he was at Jesuit. Our two daughters, our daughter in-law, and four granddaughters have all attended Ursuline. Ursuline has been an enduring experience for our family.
