Mock Trial Advances to Final Round at Trevion McFarland Tournament

Student News Extracurriculars

Waking up bright and early on a Saturday morning isn't most people's idea of a good start to the weekend. For the Mock Trial team at Ursuline, however, it's business as usual.

This year, the Bears jumped into competition earlier than ever, participating in their first tournament while still early in the school year. At the Trevion McFarland Mock Trial Tournament at the George Ellis Courthouse in Dallas, the team competed in two initial rounds before advancing to the final round shortly after 1:00 p.m. Their day concluded around 5:00 p.m. with the announcement of tournament winners and individual awards.

Sarah M. ’27 capped off a strong team performance by earning Best Advocate, while her teammates each made important contributions throughout the competition.

The tournament was also a notable milestone for this year's young Mock Trial team. For many team members, it marked their first competition of any kind, with the team's sophomores stepping up in a big way during their tournament debut.

This year's Mock Trial team includes:

  • Sarah M. ’27
  • Ali N. ’28
  • Marisa M.’28
  • Andrea A. ’29
  • Melanie B.’29
  • Marlo B. ’29
  • Yvie L. ’29
  • Nora S. ’29

Congratulations to the Bears on an impressive start to the competition season!
