Sophia L. ’27 spent part of her summer interning with Jason Whitely, senior political reporter at WFAA, where she gained firsthand experience in broadcast journalism and political reporting. During her internship, Sophia met Texas State Representatives, went behind the scenes of the newsroom to see how a newscast comes together, attended both Republican and Democratic U.S. Senate campaign rallies across Texas, and even wrote a voice-over for a news story. The experience provided a unique opportunity to strengthen her writing skills, explore the world of journalism, and witness the political process firsthand.
