On the afternoon of May 9, Mission Integration, in collaboration with Professional Learning, led an employee field trip to the Kimbell Art Museum to experience The Holy Sepulcher special exhibition.

The exhibit features more than 60 objects gifted by European monarchs and emperors to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, traditionally believed to be the site of Christ’s crucifixion, death, and resurrection. These works are on loan from the Terra Sancta Museum and offer a rare glimpse into the historical and spiritual significance of this sacred place.

Organized by Social Studies Faculty, Professional Learning Coordinator and New Teacher Mentor Coordinator Dr. Caitlin Rathe and Mission Coordinator and Theology Department Chair Angie Jakubik, the visit also included a presentation by three local university professors of studio art, who shared insights on contemporary metalsmithing practices. Their discussion drew meaningful connections between modern techniques and the historic metalwork featured in the exhibit.
