Ursuline Academy proudly celebrated the academic achievements of its students during the 2026 Academic Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 29. Families, faculty, staff, and students gathered to recognize the dedication, perseverance, and intellectual curiosity displayed by young women across every academic discipline.

The evening opened with a welcome from Principal Kayla Brown, who thanked parents for their unwavering support and acknowledged the faculty and staff who walk alongside students each day. She reminded students that their academic accomplishments reflect not only hard work, but also the Serviam spirit they bring to their lives at Ursuline.

In her opening prayer, Principal Brown invited the community to reflect on the deeper purpose of academic excellence - recognizing that while achievements are important, true success is found in who students are becoming: women of faith, integrity, and service. She expressed gratitude for the gifts and talents entrusted to each student and encouraged them to continue seeking truth with humility, wisdom, curiosity, and courage.

Throughout the ceremony, academic awards were presented across all departments, including English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Theology, World Languages, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Computer Science, Physical Education, Service Learning, STEM Independent Research, and Broadcasting. Students were honored for their scholarship, leadership, creativity, collaboration, and commitment to learning both inside and outside the classroom.

The evening also included the presentation of Alumnae Scholarships, college book awards, departmental honors, and special recognitions highlighting academic curiosity, service, and lived expressions of the Ursuline mission.

As the ceremony concluded, faculty and administrators echoed their gratitude for the privilege of teaching and mentoring these students, recognizing the inspiration they provide through both their intellectual growth and spiritual development. The evening closed with a prayer invoking the guidance of St. Angela and the protection of St. Ursula over the Ursuline community.

Harvard University Book Award

The Harvard University Book Award is given to the outstanding high school junior who displays excellence in scholarship and high character, combined with achievement in other fields outside of the classroom.
