Dear Ursuline Community,

As we begin this new year together, I want to thank you for your continued trust and partnership. Over these first few months back on campus, I have been very intentional about listening, asking questions, and learning from our students, faculty, and families before making any hiring decisions. That time has been invaluable, and I would like to share three important areas of focus as we move forward.

Faith Formation

Our Ursuline, Catholic identity remains at the heart of who we are. To continue strengthening faith formation for both students and adults, we will be filling two full-time positions for the 2026-2027 school year: a Campus Minister, who will serve on the school’s administrative team, and an Associate Campus Minister. Together, they will lead and support faith formation opportunities that invite our community to grow more deeply in relationship with Jesus.

Academics

To ensure we continue to offer a strong academic program, we will be hiring a Dean of Academics and a Director of Teaching and Learning for the 2026-2027 school year. This team will support our teachers in staying on the cutting edge of pedagogy, especially best practices for teaching girls, while maintaining the academic excellence you expect.

Relationships

Relationships have always been central to our mission, and research continues to affirm that girls are deeply relational learners. Building on this year’s successful partnership with Grit Leadership and our Athletics Department, where team surveys provided valuable insights, we will soon expand student surveys into our classrooms. These surveys will give students the opportunity to provide feedback to teachers on expectations and support, aligning beautifully with our all-school read, 10 to 25: The Science of Motivating Young People by Dr. David Yeager. This work highlights the importance of “warm demanders” – teachers who hold high expectations while offering high support and provides a meaningful way for our faculty to reflect on and strengthen those relationships.
