Ursuline Academy of Dallas is proud to announce that Sophie Greene has been selected as the 2024–2025 Teacher of the Year, an honor awarded annually to a faculty member who exemplifies excellence in teaching, leadership, and service to the school community.

Ursuline's Teacher of the Year is someone who, in the opinion of her or his peers, consistently demonstrates excellence in the teaching profession. She or he:

• Lives the spirit of the Ursuline Mission
• Serves the students as a role model professionally and in the development of their Serviam leadership
• Has quality interaction in instruction and in relationship with students both inside and outside the classroom
• Relates professionally and supportively with professional peers in formal meetings and in informal situations
• Models up-to-date pedagogy

Chosen by her peers, Ms. Greene is recognized for her outstanding contributions to education and her unwavering commitment to student success. Her colleagues describe her as both an exceptional educator and a valued member of the faculty—someone who continuously seeks professional growth, embraces feedback, and implements innovative strategies to enhance student learning.

Ms. Greene’s classroom is a model of academic rigor and inclusivity, where students feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive. She is known for her ability to connect with students on a personal level, tailoring her instruction to meet individual needs and fostering a nurturing environment that promotes both academic and personal development.

Beyond the classroom, Ms. Greene is a tireless advocate for her students. She regularly provides additional academic support, organizes enriching extracurricular activities, and collaborates with colleagues to ensure that all students have access to the resources they need to succeed. Her leadership extends to her role as an Advisor, where she consistently goes above and beyond to guide and support her advisees.

Ms. Greene has also made significant contributions to the broader school community. She has taught summer Wellness courses for incoming freshmen, instilling values of integrity, gratitude, and community. She has served as a Community & Inclusion Faculty Leader and has accompanied students to the Student Diversity Leadership Conference (SDLC), further demonstrating her commitment to equity and belonging.

Whether greeting students at the door, preparing real-world learning experiences like cooking crêpes, or pinning graduation hats, Ms. Greene brings authenticity, compassion, and joy to every aspect of her work.
