During a ceremony on Thursday, May 15, Lola K. '25, Carys O. '25, and Lauren S. '25 were named among the Top 20 Under 20 Global Young Leaders of Dallas/Fort Worth, an honor awarded by the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth. This prestigious recognition celebrates exceptional high school students who demonstrate outstanding leadership, global perspective, and a commitment to serving their communities.

In addition to being named one of the 20 Under 20, Lauren was selected as one of only three recipients of a Global Gateway Grant, a $1,000 award from the World Affairs Council to support her ongoing global initiative.

These student leaders exemplify the spirit of Ursuline’s mission to develop global citizens:

• Lola, Chairwoman of Ursuline’s Junior World Affairs Council (JWAC), led campus-wide programming including “Global Week.” She is President of the Arabic Club and a member of the National Arabic Honor Society. Passionate about Middle Eastern affairs, she has introduced her peers to Arab culture through food, dance, and language.
• Carys, a leader within JWAC, also serves as Vice President of Mu Alpha Theta and is an Ursuline Ambassador. She is pursuing independent research in medical engineering, medical physics, and global health, inspired by her passion for improving healthcare accessibility in underserved regions.
• Lauren, a board member of JWAC, Co-Vice President of the National Honor Society, and President of New Opportunities for Romanian Orphaned Children, is designing a long-lasting water purification tank to support clean water access for Syrian refugees and orphans.

Adding to the celebration, Ursuline has once again been named one of the Top 10 Junior World Affairs Councils in the DFW region. This honor reflects the dedication of our students and faculty to global education and international engagement.
