Teachers Benefit from Microsoft Training

Ursuline continues to get more familiar with Microsoft's OneNote.

Teachers used an in-service day Thursday to learn more about the benefits of using the product in the classroom. More than 80 teachers were split between beginner- and advanced-level classes. They also reviewed other Microsoft products such as Sway, OneDrive, and Forms.

Ursuline was named a Microsoft Showcase School last month.

"We're all excited to have more teachers using OneNote in the classroom, regardless of the subject they teach," Director of Technology Anne Robertson said.

OneNote is particularly beneficial for its personalized-learning capabilities.

"Teachers can take notes along with students in the collaborative space," said Math Teacher Natalie Buxkemper, who is also one of three Ursuline Innovative Educator Trainers. "The content library also acts as a filing cabinet for each class's important materials."

All notes and materials can be accessed on any computer through the Cloud, furthering the "paperless classroom" concept.
