The Ursuline Academy of Dallas choir performed five songs during the Mass of the Holy Innocents at St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City on December 28.

Thirty-five students and seven alumnae conquered a complex mix of Italian, Latin, and American music, including traditional carols, In Dulci Jubilo (In Sweet Rejoicing) and Dormi, Dormi, Bel Bambin (Sleep, O Sleep, My Lovely Child).

"The girls just wowed everyone at each location," said choir director Jane Chambers, who is celebrating her 35th year at Ursuline. "We each experienced a trip we will never forget."

In between performances at the Basilica di Sant'Andrea della Valle in Rome and the Church of Ognissanti in Florence, the choir toured the Pantheon, Colosseum, and Sistene Chapel. With Pope Francis presiding, students also attended the Holy Mass on the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God on New Year's Day.
