We're always excited to hear what our students are up to! Here are some accomplishments shared by our students.

Elizabeth Reed '18 recently received a special behind-the-scenes look at government.

She graduated from U.S. Congressman Sam Johnson's Congressional Youth Advisory Council. This select group of high school students, chosen from hundreds of applicants in Texas' 3rd Congressional District, attended the annual Congressional Veterans Commendation Ceremony, met national and homeland security officials, and toured a local youth detention center.

They also learned what it's like to work in the halls of Congress when they participated in a Mock Congress and asked questions during a special Q&A session with Johnson's Chief of Staff and Legislative Director.

The Bears From Bears Club visited Children's Medical Center of Dallas. Students entertained young patients in various hospital playrooms, including pediatric oncology.

The Club, which' has 92 members, conducts an annual teddy bear drive benefitting Children's Medical Center, as well as the Dallas and Collin County Children's Advocacy Centers.

Members also volunteer at these organizations throughout the school year. Officers are: President Elizabeth Reed '18, Vice President Gabrielle Gard '18, Secretary Ellie Curbo '18, Treasurer Natalie Sherrill '18, and Public Relations Officer Ana Williams '18.
