Striking Gold: UA Bowling Team Wins District Championship

This season, the Ursuline Bowling Team rolled their way to the top, clinching the district championship with determination, teamwork, and a whole lot of heart. For Ella Dewitt ’25 and Kassidy Jackson ’25, the victory wasn’t just about pins and points—it was the result of months of growth, grit, and unbreakable bonds.

A major turning point came early in the season when Ursuline secured a decisive win over Lake Dallas, one of their toughest competitors. “That win really set the tone for the rest of our season,” said Ella. “We had lost to them before, so getting that first win gave us the confidence we needed to carry through.”

Kassidy pointed to another key moment: a victory over their biggest rival, last year’s district champions. “When we beat them, we knew first place in districts was ours,” she said. “It was a game-changer.”

But what happened off the lanes mattered just as much. From “bowling bingo” to carpool conversations and post-match dinners, the team found countless ways to build connection and trust. “Even little things like cheering each other on—JV and Varsity alike—made us stronger,” Kassidy shared. “The upperclassmen really stepped up to support and guide the underclassmen.”

For future UA Bowlers dreaming of their own championship title, both seniors offered similar advice: mindset is everything.

“You have to want it to win it,” Ella said. “Keep a positive attitude, even when things aren’t going your way. Cheering your teammates on and staying hopeful can be just what your team needs to make a comeback.”

Kassidy agreed. “Bowling is a mental sport. Confidence in your abilities can be the difference between a loss and a win.”

With talent, teamwork, and a championship mindset, the UA Bowling Team has set a high bar—and a strong foundation—for the seasons ahead.
