Rangerettes Garner Applause, Awards

The Jesuit Rangerettes from Ursuline Academy recently participated in the Metroplex Dance Spectacular at Mansfield High School as an American Dance/Drill Team. The drill team, under the direction of Linda Coffin garnered the following awards:

Team Awards:

  • Gussie Nell Davis Award of Excellence
  • Judges Awards in Jazz, Pom, Prop, Open, and Military
  • Best in Class Teams and Officers Award- won first place in the large school division 
  • Highest team GPA in the large school division
  • WOW! Award for Pom routine, voted on by the judges

Officer Awards:

  • Judges Awards in Jazz, Lyrical, and Contemporary
  • Best Overall for Large Schools Silver Award in Technique and Precision
  • Best in Class Teams and Officers- considered the top winners of the contest
  • Best of the Best Officers- came in second out of 21 teams

Elite Awards:

  • Sweepstakes and Gussie Nell Davis Award- performed at least three team dances (The Jesuit Rangerettes did five) and received a score of 93+ on all dances from the judges. 
  • Gussie Nell Davis Award of Excellence
  • Judges Awards in Jazz, Kick, and Lyrical
  • Best in Class Teams and Officers

Solo Finalist in Large School Division:

  • Melissa Torres '22- 4th Runner-Up
  • Ciana Cantrell '21- 3rd Runner-Up
  • Miller Kerr '21- 2nd Runner-Up
  • Taylor Beazer '21- 1st Runner-Up
  • Ava Place '23- 1st Place, placed in the top three highest scores for all solos in the competition  

Large School Division for Duet:

  • Cantrell and Kerr won first place
