Ursuline News

From the Desk of Stefanie Hill

Hello Parents & Guardians,

Athletics is back! After a year-and-a-half of COVID-19 restrictions that impacted all aspects of athletics, it feels good to say that we are finally moving forward in providing students the essential activity of high school sports and all the great experiences and life lessons that participation in these activities brings. Not to mention, the opportunity for parents and fans to be in the stands again supporting and cheering on our Ursuline teams!

Being new to Ursuline this year, the last couple months have been exciting as I learn more and more about this wonderful school and community. I appreciate all that has been done to lay the groundwork that currently exists in the school and, specifically, in the Athletic Department.  At the same time, I am looking forward to the next phase of Ursuline Athletics and what that holds for our students and families.

Here is a list of some of the major initiatives we are working on behind the scenes:

  • Developing an Athletic Handbook to fully outline our processes and procedures in athletics, and to help bring consistency to all our programs in the way we operate.
  • Working on plans for a new practice gym and weight room. These added spaces will allow us to not only better meet the needs of our teams, but also to expand our class offerings for physical education and really ensure we are serving all our students in keeping them healthy and active.
  • Finding ways to better communicate with our teams and families. The roll out of the new Athletics Microsite is a big piece of this and we will continue to review our processes to ensure we streamline communication with athletes and families so that everyone has the information they need in a timely manner. Check out our new site here: Ursuline Academy Athletics (rankonesport.com).

The start of the school year is always filled with the hope and anticipation of what is to come.  As I begin my journey here at Ursuline, I am filled with hope and anticipation of all that we can do to continue to build on the rich tradition of Ursuline as well as grow in new ways to best serve our athletes and families.

Go Bears!
