Congratulations to Head Soccer Coach Darrin Hedges on being named the TAPPS 6A District 2 Coach of the Year for the fifth consecutive year!
"Coach Hedges has been leading the Ursuline Bears for the last six years and has continued to cultivate success - adding four State Championships to Ursuline’s stellar soccer legacy and propelling the Bears to a #1 ranking in the State of Texas this year and a National ranking of #19," said Ursuline Athletic Director Stefanie Hill.
Junior Varsity White Head Coach Emy Reed '14 agrees that the award is much deserved. "He goes above and beyond for his players, his staff, and the program as a whole — giving everything he can to develop every student, both on and off the field," she praised. "I think it speaks volumes that not only do his current players confide and look to him as a mentor, but so do past players who still reach out for his leadership. It’s been a privilege to learn from Darrin as a coach. Ursuline is lucky to have him."
"Darrin is a well-deserved Coach of the Year, as he led his team to a three-peat championship," praised Junior Varsity Red Coach Michele Kappas. "Darrin is a coach that genuinely cares about the sport and the girls, and gives his all to this program. Those who follow him know that they are following a coach that is fully invested!"
