A Letter from the Athletic Director

I have been thinking lately about the importance of building in time to pause and be present. Our society always runs at an incredible pace, and without pausing to be present, we often miss the opportunity to appreciate all that we have been blessed with and all that has been accomplished. This week at Ursuline, we had the privilege of celebrating our student athletes who are moving on to compete in athletics at the collegiate level.

Our College Athlete Celebration on Wednesday, February 4, was the perfect moment to pause and recognize eight student athletes who have put so much time and energy into their respective sports. For that one hour on Wednesday morning, we stopped the frantic pace and had time to share in the joy and celebration of all that these young women have already accomplished. We intentionally celebrate our college athletes this week in February, as it coincides with National Girls and Women in Sport Day, which is another reason for us to pause and commemorate. We look back with grateful hearts to the women who have come before us and all they have done to help create the opportunities that currently exist for female athletes. While these moments pass and the pace inevitably picks up, I hope that we all intentionally find ways to pause, be present, and celebrate all our special moments and blessings along the way.
