Ursuline Senior Named 2022 National Merit Semifinalist

Congratulations to Ursuline Academy senior Katherine Reynolds who has been recognized as a Semifinalist in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program!

According to a news release issued by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, a total of approximately 16,000 students across the U.S. were named National Merit Semifinalists this year. These seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $30 million that will be offered next spring.

About 95 percent of the Semifinalists are expected to attain Finalist standing, and more than half of the Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar title.

High school juniors nationwide entered the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2020 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), which served as an initial screen of program entrants. The Semifinalists in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors and are the highest scoring entrants in each state.
