Ursuline Names New Chief Development Officer
Ursuline Academy of Dallas is pleased to announce that Mimi Bishop Bason has been named Chief Development Officer, effective July 1, 2023.
 
"We are thrilled that Mimi is bringing her highly respected and much-admired leadership back to Ursuline,” said Gretchen Kane, President. “She is an extraordinary and accomplished professional with a proven track record in non-profit fundraising. We are tremendously grateful for her commitment to the mission and future of our school.”
 
As Chief Development Officer, Mimi Bason will be responsible for all fundraising strategies to meet financial goals consistent with the Ursuline mission and core values. She will supervise all Development Office programs including Annual Giving, Planned and Major Gifts, Endowments, Alumnae Office, and Special Donor Events. Reporting to the President, she will be a member of the Campus Administrative team and serve as Academy liaison to The Ursuline Academy of Dallas Foundation, Inc. Board of Trustees.
 
Mission-centric, Mimi Bason is a donor focused fundraiser and community-builder who has been successful at securing philanthropic support for non-profit organizations through all revenue streams. She most recently served as Vice President for Advancement for The Center for American and International Law. Her prior positions also include Director of Development for Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Dallas, and Director of Development for Children’s Advocacy Center for Denton County.
 
As Director of Annual Gifts at Ursuline Academy from 2006-2016, Mimi’s collaborative approach to campaign planning and management was a catalyst for success in strengthening support through engagement. She designed and implemented donor and volunteer stewardship programs and developed an employee giving program to benefit the scholarship endowment. During the Facing the Future Capital Campaign, she was also responsible for a portfolio of major gift solicitations and integrating annual giving into the comprehensive public phase of the campaign.
 
Mimi Bason is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Toledo where she earned her B.B.A. in Marketing. She served as a member of the Ursuline Educational Services Board of Trustees from 2011-2016. Mimi is also proud parent to Ursuline alumna, Valerie Bishop Pearson, Class of 2004, and Kent Bishop, Jesuit Class of 2002.
