Three Ursuline Academy seniors were honored to perform in the TPSMEA 2026 All-State Concert on January 31 at the Charles W. Eisemann Center for the Performing Arts, joining some of the most accomplished student musicians from across Texas.

Rachel O. ’26 took the stage as a violinist in the All-State Orchestra, performing under the direction of Dr. Michelle Perrin Blair. The orchestra’s program included Suite for Strings by Leoš Janáček and Dabke by Kareem Roustom, two works that highlighted both technical precision and expressive range. Rachel was also recognized during the concert as a Four-Year All-State musician, a rare and prestigious distinction.

Representing Ursuline in the All-State Band, Lucia L. ’26 performed in the percussion section, while Hannah F. ’26 earned the honor of First Chair Flute, leading her section during the performance. Hannah was recognized as a Four-Year All-State musician during the concert, an achievement that reflects years of dedication and excellence.

Conducted by Mr. Brian Youngblood, the All-State Band performed a dynamic program featuring Bravura March by C.E. Duble, Our Castaways by Julie Giroux, Solas Ane’ by Samuel Hazo, J.R. by Kevin Day, and Lightning Round by Kevin Day.

Ursuline Academy is proud of Rachel, Lucia, and Hannah for their dedication to their craft and for representing the Ursuline community with excellence on a statewide stage.
