This summer, seven Ursuline students participated in a life-changing Mother-Daughter Mission Trip to Guatemala with Orphans Outreach. Lyla D. ’28, Erin C. ’28, Cece A. ’28, Audrey L. ‘28, Mia D. ’28, Lexi T. ’27, and Bridget H. ‘28 spent a week serving alongside their mothers, embracing opportunities to live out Ursuline’s spirit of Serviam.

Before the trip, the mothers and daughters raised funds to purchase four bunk beds and bedding for four deserving families. During their week in Guatemala, they served at several Montessori schools and community programs, assisting teachers, playing with children, and sharing kindness, compassion, and joy with everyone they met.

Although they traveled to serve others, the experience left an even greater impact on those who went. The week was a powerful reminder to count one's blessings, lead with grateful hearts, and recognize the joy that comes from serving others. It is a journey these Ursuline students and their mothers will remember forever. It strengthened their faith, deepened their appreciation for others, and brought the meaning of Serviam to life.

 

🏛️ Megan S. '27 successfully complete Arete: An Introduction to the Classic Program at the University of Dallas. This was an intensive two-week college experience living on UD’s campus. The classes focused on the ancient Greek philosophical and literary traditions, primarily in Plato, Aristotle, and Sophocles, then the Medieval and Renaissance traditions with Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and two Shakespeare plays, and finished with exploring excellence and virtue in modern poetry from Keats to Wilbur and short stories by Faulkner and Flannery O’Connor. At the conclusion of the two weeks, Megan presented her final paper to the UD faculty and her peers. She also earned three college credits.

 

📣 Ashlyn F. '30 was awarded an opportunity by Nfinity Cheer for the 3rd year in a row to attend the GenNext Program this summer. This award recognizes up to 60 athletes ages 13 and under from the US, Canada, the UK, and Australia, who are already making an impact in cheer and tumbling. Those who are chosen attend a week-long camp taught by the industry’s top coaches.

 

📝 Ali L. '30 engaged in a two week intensive Summer Debate Program with Harvard Debate Council held at Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Ali completed the Public Forum Debate track with students from all over the world. She attended coaching sessions on public speaking, research and writing 10-12 hours the first week. The second week consisted of partner tournaments and lectures from experts in various topics. The debate tournament case focused on the subject of AI Data Centers being built across the country and how they are positively and negatively impacting local community resources as the United States continues to be competitive in the digital world. Ali completed the program with Highest Honors.

 

🏐 Megan S. '27's club volleyball team, Arete 17 Navy Telos, brought home 2nd place out of 48 teams that qualified in the USA Division for the Girls Junior Nationals Championship held June 30 - July 3 in Indianapolis. This special team competed with relentless grit, unmatched determination, and incredible heart from the very first serve to the championship match. This well-deserved silver medal is the result of countless hours of hard work, commitment, and believing in one another. What an incredible accomplishment on the national stage!

🧗‍♀️ Dora Z. '29 competed in the F17 Speed Climbing category at the USA Climbing Youth National Championship in Salt Lake City, earning third place in the nation. With her podium finish, Dora qualified to represent Team USA at the World Youth Climbing Championships in Arco, Italy. At the 2026 World Youth Climbing Championships in Arco, Dora competed in the Under 17 Female Speed Climbing division, finishing 29th in the world!
