Summer Student News

We’re always excited to hear what Ursuline students are up to!

Here are some accomplishments shared by our students.

Juliana Alvarez '21 and Lillie Bradford '21, President and Vice President of Prayer Blanket for Preemies, recently dropped of 131 blankets for the NICU at Parkland. These blankets were made by the club members during the last school year.

Julia Elias '21 received Youth Leader of the Year for McShan Elementary.

Lauren Vancil '21 assisted at the #BeAHero Carter BloodCare blood drive on May 29, at Texas Health Center for Diagnostics and Surgery. 

Biya Cham '23 was one of 100 high school students around the world selected to participate in Stanford's Asian Liver Center's 18th annual Youth Leadership Conference on Asian and Pacific Islander Health. She worked with a team to come up with a possible campaign idea to raise awareness for Hepatitis B and encourage people to get tested and vaccinated for it. Learn more. Participant quotes. 

Sara Carpenter '24 spent her summer working in New Hampshire scooping ice cream and hostessing at two restaurants. She loved the experience of working and enjoyed meeting new people!

Ursuline/Jesuit Cheerleaders were featured in Dallas News, "'Their favorite things': With the help of volunteers, a Dallas family delivers personalized gifts to over 100 health care workers in COVID-19 units." Read more. They also packed over 100 meals to hand out to the homeless in Dallas over the summer.
