Sophomore & Junior PSAT 10/13

Dear Sophomore and Junior Families,

Sophomore and Junior students will take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 13. Students must be in their assigned classrooms by 8:00 a.m.

For Sophomore students: the PSAT is a practice test only. The results of the test are not shared with colleges.

For Junior students: the PSAT may qualify a student for the National Merit Scholarship.

Students should:

  • Wear their uniform
  • Bring #2 pencils (no mechanical) and eraser (no pens or highlighters)
  • Bring a snack and/or drink to be left outside the testing rooms for breaks
  • Bring a fully charged approved calculator. Please note that calculators cannot be shared or charged during exam.

Electronic devices, such as cell phone or smart watches or watches with alarms are not allowed anytime during the testing hours or breaks; violation of this College Board rule will result in dismissal from the test.

Room assignments for students will be posted in the Sophomore and Junior class Teams and texted to students. Sophomore and junior students should review the Official Student Guide before test day. Students may also pick up a hard copy outside of the College Counseling Office. The guides contain sample questions and testing guidelines.

Students who receive extended time will receive more information from their personal counselor.

Students are dismissed from school once the test has ended between 12:00 - 12:30 p.m.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Smith
Dean of Academics
