The Class of 2027 gathered on Wednesday, February 4, to receive special pins and pledge to live in the spirit of St. Angela Merici with a lifelong commitment to Serviam during a Sophomore Serviam ceremony.

Also during the ceremony, the Beth Rayfield Memorial Challenge Award, or the Serviam Award, was awarded by the Ursuline Mothers Club to a sophomore student who embodies the principles of Serviam (Latin for 'I will serve'). The award is made based on a written student reflection and individual record of service.

Reagan M. '27 is the recipient of this year's award.

Over the summer, Reagan volunteered at Camp Blessing in Brenham, serving as a one-on-one buddy for an adult camper with special needs. Through constant care, encouragement, and companionship, she helped create a joyful and meaningful camp experience while giving caregivers a much-needed time of rest.

Reagan’s service reflected deep empathy and the true spirit of Serviam, recognizing the dignity, joy, and individuality of every person. Her experience not only strengthened her commitment to serving others but also reshaped her understanding of community, compassion, and love in action. Congratulations, Reagan!
