Esse's 56th edition, Esse 2022, is now available online.

This issue of the award-winning magazine features a diverse set of work from Ursuline students, including poetry, short stories, plays, photography, and paintings.

The works follow the theme of "Burn." Esse 2022 was produced by the Ursuline Literary-Art Magazine Club, which was led by Editor-in-Chief Katherine Reynolds '22 and Art Editor Jana Elawar '23. Monica Prachyl Cochran '71, Jocelyn Holmes, and Kyle Lee moderated the club.

Esse 2022 was dedicated to former English teacher Dr. Stephen da Silva. Editor-in-Chief Katherine Reynolds '22 wrote of Dr. da Silva:

Your depth of thinking and passion for the literary arts will never cease to awe me; when I am older, I would be thrilled to possess even half your articulation. While your time at Ursuline was unfortunately curtailed, the impact you had on so many hundreds of students will never be overestimated. You have been a kindred spirit, friend, and advisor to all who have had the good fortune to talk to you.
