The 2024 Mardi Gras Chairs Maxine Kijek Sims '82, Nathalie Anderson, and Ashley Snider Erickson '90 answer questions about this year's event:
Tell us about the event:
Mardi Gras is the annual Gala and Auction through which our community comes together to support scholarships.
This year, it will take place on Saturday, February 24, at 6:30 p.m., at Million Air Dallas.
What are you most excited for?
We are excited to celebrate 150 years of Ursuline's presence in the Dallas community and the impact of those Ursuline Sisters who traveled to Dallas those many years ago and single-handedly created a legacy for women: Ursuline graduates of the past, present and future. Ursuline women continue to change the world!
Why is this event special to you?
We are truly humbled to be asked to chair this amazing event.
As Ursuline alumnae and parents of alumnae, all three of us can wholeheartedly attest to the impact of the Ursuline education and the importance of lifelong friendships and the sense of community beyond graduation.
What is different this year?
The Sesquicentennial Gala and Mardi Gras Auction is the hallmark celebration of Ursuline's 150th year. SOIREE ROUGE will also be the first in-person event in three years. This festive gathering will be a seated dinner with a live auction, casino, and entertainment.
The entire Ursuline community is invited to gather in support of Ursuline Scholarships and celebrate 150 years of Ursuline education in Dallas.
Why should you participate?
Ursuline's annual Mardi Gras event plays an essential role in the efforts to raise funds for scholarships. This academic year, the Academy has awarded over $1,700,000 in financial assistance to nearly 23% of the student body. With the support of the Ursuline community, this impact will continue to grow!
Anything else you would like to add?
We invite you to don your best red, formal attire and join us for a night of community and celebration at SOIREE ROUGE!
