Bear Fact co-editor Kristen Wharton '25 has been named to the Quill and Scroll Student Advisory Board. Kristen was instrumental in getting Ursuline’s chapter of Quill and Scroll, an international journalism honor society, re-established after a couple of years of inactivity.

Competitive sailor Mercedes Porter-Via '26 qualified to represent the United States and the state of Texas in the 53rd International Sunfish Class Association World Championship October 12-19.

On October 5, Maddox Johnson '25 and Eloise Love '25 competed in the Irving Oktoberfest 1/2 marathon, which had more than 800 participants. They both came in third place in the 15-19 age group. 


Ava Staton '25 competed at Stable View in Aiken, South Carolina, on September 28-29, 2024, right after Hurricane Helene hit this area. Even though the area had no power, no water, and very limited resources, the Eventing Community rallied, and the competition went forward. Ava and Gracie finished 5th in the Modified Division. 

 

The French II Honors class recently learned about the weather. Each student dressed up in the season of their choice and presented in French to their classmates about the weather during that particular season. This included sharing information about the appropriate clothes and activities for each season. Bravo!
