Meet Our 2024 National Merit Semifinalist

Congratulations to our National Merit Semifinalist, Molly Nickols!

In college, she hopes to study Bioinformatics, an area that applies computer science to biology in order to better understand and use biological information.

"In the future, I want to work as a Bioinformatician, analyzing data sets to research and hopefully cure diseases," she said.

Her favorite memory at Ursuline so far has been junior year Intramurals.

"The electric atmosphere in the gym as my class was announced the winner for category after category was truly unparalleled," she said.

At Ursuline, she loves her Multivariable Calculus class with Dr. Wright.

"We are a very small and tight-knit group," she said. "Whenever one of us gets stuck on a problem, Dr. Wright and the rest of our classmates are always eager to help, and our class group chat often booms into late hours of the night."

And she is incredibly grateful for her Ursuline teachers.

"I certainly would not have received this recognition if not for their years of help," she said.

Molly is also a Varsity Track and Volleyball Captain. She is President of the Biomedical Club and plays the violin in Ursuline's orchestra.

Congratulations, Molly!
