Dear Ursuline Families,
When I reflect at the end of each school year, I am continually amazed by and grateful for the members of this Ursuline community. For many, many years Ursuline’s success has been defined by each of you who, through your encouragement, optimism, leadership, and generosity lift up the school, our students, and each other.
But when you consider the special challenges of this year, your dedication and loyalty to Ursuline are all the more appreciated. You have enabled Ursuline to thrive amidst the greatest of challenges, offering the very best experiences for today’s students while simultaneously preparing the school for future generations of UA girls.
The spirit of Serviam is alive at Ursuline, as demonstrated by the countless hours that volunteers offer in service to our school programs. In any given year, we owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to those of you who serve. This year, however, I cannot possibly express how grateful we are to our volunteer leaders who were creative, flexible, and thoughtful as they re-imagined activities to support our faculty and students while creating community-building moments along the way.
To each of you who lent time to Ursuline’s Mothers Club, Dads Club, Parent Association Board, Parent Campaign Team, Mardi Gras auction committees, Mail Team, Bear Necessities volunteers, or Athletics and Academic departments I offer a giant THANK YOU.
The Campaign for Ursuline: Act, Move, Believe
Ursuline celebrated a huge milestone in September when we launched the public phase of The Campaign for Ursuline: Act, Move, Believe. To date, our community has committed $65.5 million toward Ursuline’s comprehensive campaign endeavor, 77% of the total campaign goal!
Your support of the Ursuline Fund and Scholarships makes it possible for Ursuline to offer your daughters exceptional educational experiences in and beyond the classroom. Your generous gifts to Capital Improvements have propelled construction forward, and we are on track to open several new and renovated spaces in August.
In the new East Campus building, our students and faculty will begin to explore the benefits of new classrooms for visual arts, English, Journalism, and Social Studies. A new engineering classroom will be paired with two fabrication labs and a 3D print studio. These facilities vastly increase the number of collaboration spaces available to students and offer a secondary dining facility with indoor and outdoor seating.
On the west side of campus, Haggar Center is being expanded by 4,000 feet on both the upper and lower levels. The much-needed increase in capacity for the Fox Dining Hall will allow Ursuline to consolidate the daily schedule from three lunch periods down to two.
Ursuline Academy is blessed to have families like yours who give so generously in so many ways. We are excited about the momentum that you bring to this campaign as we continue efforts in the upcoming school year. It is a joy and a privilege to witness this community working together in support of the school.
