The National Council of Teachers of English has recognized ESSE 2024 as Superior in their Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines (REALM) out of a total of 421 entries across the United States. 

The REALM program publicly recognizes excellent literary magazines produced by students with the support of their teachers. REALM is designed to encourage all schools to develop literary magazines that celebrate the art and craft of writing.

ESSE 2024, advised by English teacher George Rodriquez and art department chair Jocelyn Holmes, was edited by Mary Borkowski ’24 and May Atwell ’24.
