St. Angela’s adventurous spirit found five Ursuline employees in Montana over the summer from July 20-26, celebrating UA's legacy of sharing the beauty and educational endeavors of the Ursuline Sisters from the late 19th century.
Montana travelers included Director of Mission & Heritage Sr. Lois Castillon, O.S.U.; Administrative Assistant to Campus Ministry Coordinators and Director of Mission & Heritage Brenda Rasco; Chief Financial Officer Jim Koehler; Director of Security & Safety Sean Stewart; and Visual Arts teacher Leah Schlief-Freese.
Over the week, they spent time at a retreat and conference center in Lincoln, Montana, sharing community, hiking, and exploring the Little Rockies.
The travelers visited the Ursuline Centre in Great Falls, Montana, a facility which offers retreats, preschool programs, and housing for many groups. They also visited the St. Peter's Mission and St. Ignatius Mission.
A trip highlight was hearing Don Fish of the Blackfeet Tribe share about the tribe's customs and spirituality as well visiting the nearby Buffalo Jump Heritage Center.
"Building community and opening ourselves to the beauty of the 'Big Sky' country refreshed us, widened our world, and brought us great peace," said Sr. Lois.
