Downtown Irving features Bill Thompson's work for permanent public art installation

Visual Arts faculty member Bill Thompson recently concluded his solo exhibition at the Irving Arts Center, which drew strong support from colleagues, students, alumnae, and patrons throughout its run. While the exhibition officially closed November 29, Thompson’s work will be featured again when the show reopens in February at the Kemp Center for the Arts in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Shortly after the exhibition opened in August, the City of Irving selected three of Mr. Thompson’s pieces to be enlarged for permanent public art installations in downtown Irving. He also presented a “Lunch & Learn” talk at the Irving Arts Center on November 4, which was recorded and later shared on the Center’s YouTube channel. In the presentation, Thompson reflects in part on his professional journey and the role Ursuline Academy has played in shaping his career.

Mr. Thompson expressed his gratitude to all who supported the exhibition, including the Irving Arts Center and Ursuline Academy’s Professional Development program.

Congratulations, Mr. Thompson!
