A Letter From the Principal

Dear Families,

January is not a quiet month! For much of my life I thought it was, the quiet after Christmas and the whole, full holiday season, the muted gray weather, the relatively spacious calendar days. It is not this way anymore, not at Ursuline anyway! In fact, I feel like this January has a bit of sparkle in these last two weeks of the month!

This week we celebrate Global Week. Ursuline leads in global connectedness and experiences, and even in a year without travel, we have remained true to our mission: Ursuline Academy educates young women for leadership in a global society. Students have continued to learn about cultures and lives lived all around our globe through virtual tours, exciting speakers, and reaching out through all forms of media to sustain global friendships we have made. This week, we welcome speakers from all over the world, including a panel featuring our own international teachers! Thursday’s keynote speaker, Princess Sarah Culberson, is an excellent representative of the humanitarian service we value. Even in a pandemic, “We Stay Global!”

Next week we join Catholic schools across the United States of America to celebrate Catholic Schools Week. It is a week of fun and prayer to remind us of the amazing gifts of Catholic education. I look forward to seeing all the treats and surprises that the week holds for us, and to sharing prayers of gratitude with our community that we are here and part of this larger part of our Church.

All in all, I would say this is a really great time to be an Ursuline girl!
