Ursuline Students Earn 12 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards

The Alliance for Young Artists and Writers announced the recipients of the 2026 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, and Ursuline Visual Arts students took home 12 awards, including Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable Mention.

The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards program is the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative students in grades 7–12. Students can apply in 29 categories of art and writing. 

Ursuline students recognized include:

  • Alex S. ’26 - Silver Key and Honorable Mention
  • Vivian X. ’26  - Silver Key and Honorable Mention
  • Ariana E. ’26 -  Silver Key and two Honorable Mentions
  • Paolina H. ’26 - Gold Key
  • Taylor D. ’26 -  Gold and Silver Key and two Honorable Mentions

"The work that these students have accomplished this year is truly extraordinary. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to this group of talented artists for their remarkable achievements and recognition of their dedication to technical excellence and unique artistic expression in the visual arts," said Jocelyn Holmes, Ursuline Visual Arts Department Chair.

Entries that receive a Gold Key are automatically considered for national awards. National medalists and their educators will be honored at a ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
