Student Internship Program (Summer)

The Student Internship Program offers rising seniors the opportunity to gain real-world experiences in the workplace through exposure to a field of their interest paired with the guidance of a mentor. Participants acquire personal developmental growth, career awareness, and a better understanding of a professional workplace environment through a 60-hour summer placement. Learn more.

Alumnae Scholarship Award Application Readers (February - March)

Each year, the Alumnae Association grants seven partial scholarships to current students who have alumnae relatives and demonstrate leadership abilities. We ask reunion-year alumnae to review and score the anonymous applications.

Time Commitment: February – March / 1 to 3 hours, at-home/off-campus opportunity.

All hands on deck for this bi-annual event! Many volunteer opportunities are available from speaking to the students to helping manage logistics – there is a place for you to get involved!

Ursuline Advocate (Ongoing)

A new volunteer leadership program – Ursuline Advocates – replaces the former Class Agent structure. Any alumna who wishes to be involved can choose from a variety of roles:

Class Advocate - keep your class connected with themselves and the school
Regional Advocate - stay connected with other alumnae living in your area
Affinity Advocate - connect with other alumnae and students who share your interests
Social Media Advocate - help us use social media to spread the word about UA news
Community Engagement Advocate - come together to support other alumnae in need

Alumnae Easter Egg Hunt (January - March)

Come enjoy this multi-generational event! Alumnae, parents of alumnae, and Ursuline community members bring their children to the front lawn for an Easter Egg Hunt and a visit with the Easter Bunny. Help plan and organize this great event!

Homecoming Weekend (November)

From far and wide, alumnae from all years return to campus to reconnect with each other and Ursuline during Homecoming Weekend! Volunteers are needed to help with the following weekend events:

Class Reunions

Class Reunion Coordinators - 3-4 volunteers from each reunion Class
January - November / 1-2 hours per month


Lifetime Alumnae Reception - 2-3 volunteers needed to host the event
November / 1-1.5 hours total

Intramurals Cocktail Party - 8-10 general volunteers needed
November / 1 hour total


Alumnae Games - 10-12 volunteers needed for team check-in, line judging, score keeping, etc.
November / 1 hour total

Golden Jubilee Luncheon - 2-3 volunteers needed to host the event for the 50th Reunion Class
November / 2-3 hours total

Tea at Three - 2-3 volunteers needed to host the event for the 55th-75th Reunion Classes
November / 1-2 hours total

International Serviam Day (January-May)

With 8,900 alumnae in 28 countries, we can make a real difference in the world! Volunteers in each region/country will plan and implement a service project for alumnae in their area to attend. International Serviam Day will take place May 4, 2019.

Volunteers needed in the following cities/countries*:
Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Germany, Houston, Hawaii, London, Los Angeles, Oklahoma City, New York, Paris, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Scotland, Washington D.C., USBVI.

*Not limited to these cities - if you are interested in planning a project in your area, please contact the Alumnae Office.

Time Commitment: January-May/ 4-5 hours total

Additional Opportunities

Alumnae Board

Are you interested in serving Ursuline in a deeper way? The Alumnae Board strengthens and supports ties between the alumnae and Ursuline Academy. Board members strive to nurture the bond of sisterhood at home and abroad and promote opportunities for spiritual, social, intellectual, and professional enrichment.

Time Commitment: Board terms are 2 years each (August-May). A Board member can serve for up to 3 consecutive terms.

Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings, plan and implement events, and support Alumnae initiatives.

Alumnae Giving

Work with the Alumnae Board Development VP and the Advancement Office to support fundraising initiatives for Ursuline Academy. For first-time fundraisers, it is a great way to gain experience in development. For those who are experienced in this area, it is a great way to give of your talent to support the school!

Alumnae Spotlight

We always want to hear what our alumnae are doing and share their successes with the Ursuline community and beyond! A special "High Notes" section appears each month in Connects, the alumnae email newsletter, to highlight these professional, volunteer, and personal accomplishments.

The Ursuline Professional Women's Network (UPWN) serves as a forum for alumnae and other professional women in many cities across the nation. It features 4-5 networking events each year including breakfast speakers and after work events. The organization also works with the Student Internship Program to provide internships and career-mentoring for current students.

Time Commitment: various months and citites, 2-5 volunteer hours

Memorial Mass

The Alumnae Office holds three Memorial Masses each year (January, April, and August) to celebrate and remember those who have passed away in the Ursuline community.

2-3 Volunteers needed to serve as a Eucharistic Minister or Reader.
