Associate Athletic Director

Ursuline Academy of Dallas seeks an Associate Athletic Director for the 2019-2020 school year. Founded in 1874, Ursuline Academy of Dallas is an independent Catholic, college preparatory school for young women sponsored by the Ursuline Sisters. The mission of Ursuline Academy is the total development of the individual student through spiritual formation, intellectual growth, service to others, and building of community.

The leadership structure of Ursuline Academy's Athletics Department is comprised of one Athletic Director (AD) and three Associate Athletic Directors who are responsible for assisting the AD in the administration and supervision of the inter-scholastic athletic program at Ursuline Academy.

GENERAL AUTHORITY

The Assistant Athletic Directors report to the Athletic Director who, in turn, reports to the Principal.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Fosters a collaborative, community spirit to serve the Mission and vision of Ursuline Academy and the Athletic Department
  • Supports the AD in administering the athletic programs at Ursuline
  • Assists the coaching staff under the direction of the AD
  • Communicates essential information to appropriate constituents through a variety of media within the athletic programs under the guidance of the AD to ensure consistency in tone and content
  • RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES

  • Teach at least three classes
  • Serve as head coach of an Ursuline varsity sport
  • Complete training/certification to serve as Game Day Administrator and attend periodic TAPPS meetings to represent Ursuline
  • Manage specific, assigned administrative duties as directed by the Athletic Director (ex: sports information, website communications, community outreach, budget and facility management, away game logistics, TAPPS/TAPPSTER entries, coordination of Dallas Parochial League events, internal record keeping and data entry, etc.)
  • EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • High school coaching and teaching experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Understanding and proficiency in technology and social media
  • Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) preferred
