Ursuline Academy of Dallas is proud of its long tradition of athletic excellence. More than 400 students participate in one or more of the eleven varsity sports at the Academy. In 2006-2007, the Ursuline Bears won state titles in cross county, soccer, swimming & diving, and tennis and were state runners-up in volleyball and track & field. Ursuline student-athletes also achieved national prominence in crew and lacrosse.

Ursuline joined the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) in 1990 and was a class 5A member for 14 years. In 2004, TAPPS reclassified Ursuline Academy of Dallas to 6A status. In district play, Ursuline competes against Bishop Dunne, Bishop Lynch, John Paul II, Nolan Catholic (Fort Worth) and Trinity Christian Academy (Addison). Statewide, more than 200 schools participate in TAPPS.

Recent Ursuline graduates have gone to such schools as Dartmouth, St. Louis University, Creighton University, Loyola University of Chicago, Princeton, Harvard, University of Virginia, University of North Carolina, TCU, SMU and Trinity University where they have competed in college athletics in basketball, crew, soccer, softball, track & field, and volleyball.

Dedication Prayer for the Jane Neuhoff Athletic Center (9-16-1996)
We pray, Lord, with more than words today.
This building is our prayer.
The vision of all who saw the need,
The zeal of all who persevered,
The patience of all who waited,
The wisdom of all who planned,
The skill of all who labored,
The generosity of all who gave:
These are our prayers, Lord
     And these we offer you.

May this impressive union
     Of human effort and material
     Bring our students closer
To the achievement of their full potential.
May it bring the laughter of play,
The excitement of competition,
The reward of achievement,
And the satisfaction of creative service
To those who spend and lend
     Their time and talent here.

May your blessing rest upon this
     Jane Neuhoff Athletic Center
     And upon each of us
     Who, today, rejoice in it.

Amen

(adapted from a prayer by Rabbi Robert J. Schurman)
