Administrative Assistant to the Director of Facilities and Director of Security
Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Non-Exempt
Ursuline Academy of Dallas is searching for a talented team player to fill the open position of AdministrativeAssistant to the Director of Facilities and Director of Security.
In this role, you will assist in the facilities and physical security program for the campus.
Assist the Director of Facilities and Director of Security with daily operations of the school.
Identifies critical assets and vulnerabilities so that appropriate mitigation strategies can be developed and executed.
Advises facility management regarding the protection of assets and other security related issues.
Ensures compliance of facility/security policies and procedures.
Supervises facility/security work orders assigned.
Schedule code regulatory facility inspections and maintain file/database.
Makes arrangements for required repairs for facility/security equipment (software/hardware).
Administers electronic access for the facility (video, access control, alarm).
Prepares reports of facility/security related incidents.
Assign corrective and event related work orders.
Maintain inventory of tools, consumable supplies, and other equipment.
Budget management, process invoices for payment, set up new vendors/contractors.
Assist with organizing facility plans and specifications library.
Other facility/security related duties, as necessary.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in facilities/security related position.
High School diploma or Associates/Bachelor degree in related field.
Understanding of supervisory or management experience.
Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with all faculty, staff and students.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
General proficiency in Windows based computer applications (Word, Excel).

Education: Master of Library Science required
The Ursuline Academy Assistant Librarian is engaged in many different tasks during the course of a school day. Below are listed first the main responsibilities of the individual in this position followed by tasks which are taken on by either the Head Librarian or Assistant Librarian depending on the availability of each. All tasks are undertaken under the supervision and guidance of the Head Librarian.
1. Support the Mission of Ursuline Academy of Dallas and the goals of the Beatrice M. Haggerty Library. Tasks include:
a. Interact with students and faculty in a welcoming, helpful, and empathetic manner;
b. Serve as a student advisor;
c. Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and personal growth.
d. Participate in collection development activities to maintain a balanced collection of materials which supports the curriculum as well as the reading interests of library patrons.
2. Engage with students and faculty as an instructor in library and research skills. Tasks include:
a. Provide instruction in the following areas: identification and access of resources; resource analysis; generating citations; understanding and identifying bias in resources; utilizing library subscription
services; assist with readers advisory.
b. Collaborate with teachers to provide instruction to support assigned research across the curriculum.
c. Provide individualized support and instruction to students requiring assistance with research.
d. Conduct in-service with faculty showcasing library resources and providing instruction in their use.
3. Maintain the library acquisitions system. Tasks include:
a. Placing orders with vendors;
b. Completing purchase orders using the electronic budget management module of Senior Systems;
c. Distributing materials requested for preview to departments for review prior to purchase;
d. Order library office equipment and supplies;
e. Maintain accounting of library budget throughout the year, reporting balances of encumbered monies to librarian.
4. Maintain the periodicals collection. Tasks include:
a. Periodical check in;
b. Submitting appropriations forms to the periodicals vendor EBSCO for missing issues;
c. Placing periodicals in circulation and archiving back issues.
5. Opportunity to staff the library during summer school session. Tasks include:
a. Work with summer school teachers to provide access for classes to the library;
b. Circulation of materials to students;
c. Maintain a calm atmosphere for students;
d. Perform year-end activities.
6. Coordinate the library volunteer program. Tasks include:
a. Communicating with volunteers;
b. Ensuring volunteers complete safe environment training and submit forms for background checks;
c. Maintaining a volunteer calendar and list of tasks for the volunteers;
d. Training volunteers as necessary.
Other tasks may include the following:
1. Circulation of library materials;
2. Assisting students in location of materials;
3. Helping to maintain a quiet library atmosphere;
4. Assisting with library promotions;
5. Processing new materials;
6. Helping to maintain the library and library classroom calendars;
7. Depositing library fine money in a timely manner with the business office;
8. Shelving materials;
9. Assisting with year-end library inventory;
10. Keeping bulletin boards up-to-date;
11. Staging displays.
12. Co-moderate the Library Advisory Board with the Head Librarian.
13. Undertake special projects under the supervision of the Librarian.
Computer proficiency is required.
While it is not essential to demonstrate mastery of any one particular program or software, familiarity with a variety of programs and adaptability in learning unfamiliar software is important.
Hours: 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. This is a 10 month position.

Coach - Head Varsity Basketball Coach
Ursuline Academy of Dallas, a private, Catholic, all girls college prep school grades 9-12, is currently accepting resumes for the following position:
Head Varsity Basketball Coach
This position is stipend only. Candidates should have excellent organizational, communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills. Ideal candidates should have experience coaching high school girls on a competitive level. Knowledge of the rules associated with TAPPS is a plus. Collegiate playing experience preferred.

Teacher - Chemistry
Ursuline Academy of Dallas is seeking a full time teacher for Chemistry.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree in chemistry or related field, at least two years teaching experience in chemistry and in-depth knowledge of subject matter, a positive, collaborative work style, the ability to educate in an engaging manner, the ability to integrate positively into an independent school culture, the enthusiasm for pursuing professional development opportunities, and the dedication to ensure the spirit and life of the school mission.
Ursuline supports the student based inquiry method, Modeling. Candidates must be comfortable with or willing to learn the Modeling method in teaching chemistry, with required attendance at a summer workshop unless previously trained.

Ursuline Academy of Dallas seeks an experienced English educator beginning in August 2017 who is interested in engaging and developing the literary minds and writing potential of young women in a 21st century learning environment. Dedicated to ensuring the spirit and life of the school’s mission, the educator should desire a positive and collaborative work environment.
Teaching responsibilities could include courses focusing on “The Hero’s Journey” as well as American or World Literature, exploring how the world influences not only our own point of view but also that of the author. In addition to classroom responsibilities, the teacher is expected to serve as a grade-level advisor; to actively participate in non-academic student activities such as moderating clubs, chaperoning students & student supervision; and to enthusiastically pursue professional development opportunities, joining an independent school culture.
The English Department of Ursuline Academy strives to develop students who can enter college with the ability to read, think, and write, both analytically and creatively, and we hope to inspire a lifelong love of reading. Teacher - Mathematics
Ursuline Academy of Dallas is seeking a full time mathematics teacher.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree in math or mathematics education, three to five years teaching experience in math at the secondary level including Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus proficiency in the use of technology for pedagogical purposes including, but not limited to, TI-nspire CX CAS equipment, a positive, collaborative work style, the ability to educate in an engaging manner, the ability to integrate positively into an independent school culture, the enthusiasm for pursuing professional development opportunities, the dedication to ensure the spirit and life of the school mission.
Teaching experience in an independent school and/or all girls’ environment and the ability to teach other math classes is strongly preferred.
