Employment Opportunities
Classroom Teacher - Mathematics
Ursuline Academy of Dallas is seeking a teacher to be a member of its mathematics faculty, teaching five sections of mathematics. In addition to classroom responsibilities, the teacher is expected to serve as a grade-level advisor, actively participate in non-academic student activities, and pursue professional development opportunities.

The mathematics program at Ursuline Academy embraces problem solving skills and connections to the world outside of the math classroom. Ursuline mathematics instruction emphasizes communication, multiple representations, and appropriate integration of technology. Our teachers strive to provide a safe environment for risk taking in mathematics by promoting perseverance in problem solving and encouraging independent thinking.
Qualifications: An ideal candidate will have a degree in mathematics, master’s degree in mathematics or mathematics education is preferred, and three to five years of experience teaching mathematics at the secondary level including Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus. The candidate will be proficient in the use of technology for pedagogical purposes including, but not limited to, TI-NSpire CX CAS, and TI-Navigator equipment.

Personal Counselor
Ursuline Academy of Dallas, Texas, a Catholic girls’ high school, has an opening for a Personal Counselor.
The ideal candidate must have at minimum a Master’s degree in the counseling field and successful counseling experience in a school or clinical setting with adolescents.

Essential Job Duties:
Provide social/emotional and academic counseling for students
Consult with parents and educators to assist students with academic and personal goals
Assist students regarding progress on identified academic and personal goals
Assess the mental health needs of students and provide appropriate referrals
Consult and coordinate services with outside mental health professionals regarding student therapeutic needs
Preferred licensure in the counseling/psychology field

Teacher – Computer Science
Computer Science position at Ursuline Academy – beginning August of 2016

Ursuline Academy of Dallas, Texas, an independent, Catholic high school for girls, has an opening for a Computer Science teacher. Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Math, and strong candidates will have a Master’s degree and successful teaching experience. Experience with object oriented design to facilitate teaching Java is critical. In addition, candidate should have experience in webpage design, HTML, CSS, and, preferably, JavaScript. Experience with drag-and-drop programming languages, including Scratch and App Inventor, is desired. Candidate will also be required to complete two weeks of training during the summer. Teachers at Ursuline serve as advisors for a designated group of students.
