Employment Opportunities
Teacher - Chemistry
Ursuline Academy of Dallas is seeking a full time teacher for Chemistry.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree in chemistry or related field. At least two years teaching experience in chemistry and in-depth knowledge of subject matter, a positive, collaborative work style, the ability to educate in an engaging manner, the ability to integrate positively into an independent school culture, the enthusiasm for pursuing professional development opportunities, the dedication to ensure the spirit and life of the school mission.

Ursuline supports the student based inquiry method, Modeling. Candidates must be comfortable with or willing to learn the Modeling method in teaching chemistry, with required attendance at a summer workshop unless previously trained.

Teaching experience in an independent school and/or all girls’ environment and the ability to teach other sciences and/or math classes is strongly preferred.

Teacher - English
Ursuline Academy of Dallas seeks an experienced English educator beginning in August 2017 who is interested in engaging and developing the literary minds and writing potential of young women in a 21st century learning environment. Dedicated to ensuring the spirit and life of the school’s mission, the educator should desire a positive and collaborative work environment.

Teaching responsibilities could include courses focusing on “The Hero’s Journey” as well as American or World Literature, exploring how the world influences not only our own point of view but also that of the author. In addition to classroom responsibilities, the teacher is expected to serve as a grade-level advisor; to actively participate in non-academic student activities such as moderating clubs, chaperoning students & student supervision; and to enthusiastically pursue professional development opportunities, joining an independent school culture.

The English Department of Ursuline Academy strives to develop students who can enter college with the ability to read, think, and write, both analytically and creatively, and we hope to inspire a lifelong love of reading. In addition, the English program hopes to enable students to become more thoughtful about themselves and their relationship to their place in both the local and global community.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have degree in English and a minimum of three years teaching experience on the secondary level, preferably at an independent school and/or in an all girls’ environment.

A Master’s degree (completed or in progress) is preferred.

Teacher - Mathematics
Ursuline Academy of Dallas is seeking a full time mathematics teacher.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree in math or mathematics education, three to five years teaching experience in math at the secondary level including Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus proficiency in the use of technology for pedagogical purposes including, but not limited to, TI-nspire CX CAS equipment, a positive, collaborative work style, the ability to educate in an engaging manner, the ability to integrate positively into an independent school culture, the enthusiasm for pursuing professional development opportunities, the dedication to ensure the spirit and life of the school mission.

Teaching experience in an independent school and/or all girls’ environment and the ability to teach other math classes is strongly preferred.

The mathematics program at Ursuline Academy embraces problem solving skills and connections to the world outside of the math classroom.
Ursuline mathematics instruction emphasizes communication, multiple representations, and appropriate integration of technology. Our teachers strive to provide a safe environment for risk taking in mathematics by promoting perseverance in problem solving and encouraging independent thinking.
