Bear Necessities Bear Necessities is three stores in one serving the Ursuline campus: Bear Necessities Store Hours Note: Bear Necessities has moved to the south end of St. Ursula Hall during construction! The bookstore compiles the Ursuline Academy booklist for each school year: 2008-09 Ursuline Academy Booklist (PDF) – Updated June 10, 2008 New books are available through our online bookstore for the 2008-09 school year beginning August 4, 2008, at the Ursuline Academy Online Bookstore. Shopping is fast, easy and convenient and the books are delivered directly to your door within a few days. It is recommended that you purchase both first and second semester books at one time. A few of the required books and supplies will be available exclusively at Bear Necessities, as indicated on the UA booklist. The English Department is requiring that all paperback novels be purchased new. Bear Necessities will stock all of the required paperback novels for English. Used books are available at the Used Book Sale, sponsored by the Ursuline Parents' Association and held on Saturday, August 2, 2008. Admission to the sale is by random number, which will be sent to each Ursuline family, along with detailed instructions, by mail in mid-July. Used uniform blazers and skirts will also be available. On Friday, August 1, 2008, there will be a drop off day for used books. Only books that appear on the new UA booklist will be accepted for the sale. A representative from a textbook wholesaler will be on campus to offer cash for books that cannot be accepted for the Used Book Sale. Used books may also be purchased directly from other students. Before you buy used books, you will need: 1) the Ursuline Academy booklist and, 2) your course schedule to ensure you purchase the correct books for your courses. Inventory includes copy paper, floppy disks, audiocassettes, poster board, index cards, report covers, folders, pens, pencils and notebooks. Bear Necessities also stocks supplies required for specific courses, such as chemistry goggles, geometers, compasses, graph paper books and P.E. uniforms. Bear Necessities store hours allow students to conveniently shop for needed supplies before school, at lunch, or between classes. Bear Necessities carries a full line of Ursuline logo items and casual clothing to show your school spirit. Download our Bear Necessities Order Form to purchase Spirit Shop merchandise.
