The Beatrice M. Haggerty Library gives students access to the best leading edge resources for research. Completely renovated in 2003, it can accommodate two classes at a time in addition to students working during free periods or study halls. There are 11 student computer stations and 12 color printers (four free-standing for use with laptops), a scanner and a copier.

The library collections consist of over 15,000 volumes of fiction, non-fiction, reference, biography and professional books. There are also videotape, audio book, CD-ROM, and music CD collections. Ursuline subscribes to 83 periodicals covering a wide range of subjects from news and current issues to popular culture. Periodicals are kept in archive for two years. The library subscribes to four daily and four weekly newspapers and holds 12 titles in microfiche dating as far back as 20 years.

Ursuline's "Library without Walls" also offers a number of online products that students can access on campus and from home:

Library Resources

The online library catalog allows students to search the holdings of the library.

EBSCO Host – a group of databases providing citations and full text access to articles in subject-specific and general interest periodicals
Gale Resources – a group of databases providing citations and full text access to articles and to reference works in their entirety
Newsbank – an online database which provides access to full text articles in regional, national and international newspapers
ABC-Clio History Databases – databases which focus on world history, world geography and American history
Encyclopedia Britannica
Oxford English Dictionary
Facts on File: Issues and Controversies
Literature in Context

Students can also search the web using Web Feet Online, a search engine which provides access to reviewed, evaluated websites.

Built in 1986, the library was made possible through a gift from Mrs. Beatrice M. Haggerty. Again thanks to the generosity of Mrs. Haggerty, the library was fully renovated in 2003.
